You can pressure your bank over transfers

You can put pressure on your bank to ensure money transfers are made under a same day service.

That's according to the UK Cards Association, who says even if the bank is not signed up to the faster Payments System, you can demand that your payments are re routed via a bank that is a member.

However, there has been criticism of some banks for putting a very low limit, sometimes as little as £10, on the amount that can be transferred through the system.

You also might be charged a small amount through this service, however it could save you more money in the long run if a payment is due

say the day after you get paid, otherwise you could incur a larger penalty for a late payment.
