E.On offers new customers chance to budget better
24/09/2009
Energy supplier E.On has announced plans to offer new customers the option to pay monthly.
If the customer chooses to pay by cheque or cash, then they don't have to pay their bills quarterly anymore.
E.On says this makes it easier for people to budget, but comparison site confused.com says it could just be a ploy to ease E.On's cash flow.
Confused.com's bosses say although it could just be seen as a perk for E.On, the move should be embraced by customers.
An E.On spokesperson did say this form of payment is cheaper for the company, but the decision was made with the customer in mind, to help with bill managing.
They should use the option to take control of their finances and budgeting.
EuroDebt would recommend that consumers review their options with regard to the best energy provider for their circumstances. It is important that you are on the right tariff and right payment method. They offer a free comparison service at www.energyswitching.co.uk.
