
Debt advice could ease NHS burden

Getting debt advice early is being encouraged to save the NHS money according to a new report.
The London Health Forum say around a quarter of a million Londoners suffer from mental health problems as a result of debt worries. And it's costing the capital's NHS system roughly £450m a year, the campaign group said.
The forum is asking GPs to encourage people to get debt help and give them options over their money problems.
Debt-related mental health problems are an ongoing nationwide problem.
According to the Royal College of Psychiatrists, one in four people in the UK with a mental health problem is in debt.
