Employees would like more financial guidance in the workplace, according to Scottish Widows' research.

Their findings show that three quarters of people would like advice regarding their retirement, but only around one in ten go to their boss for pension information.

Where advice is available, a third think that extended financial support should be on offer to bolster company advice.

The Pensions Report was created in conjunction with Financial Planning Week, taking place this week. The seven day event is aimed at getting people to take control of their finances and take care of their future.

Debt solutions firm EuroDebt echo the need to take control of money problems as early as possible.

Their figures show that thousands of their clients on a Debt Management Plan'>Debt Management Plan are over sixty and are either retired or approaching retirement.
