Brits need to take financial control or face future crisis
08/09/2009
More than a quarter of Brits are relying on winning the lottery to see them through financially, a survey has revealed.
In a bid to find out the UK's attitudes to financial planning, YouGov carried out a survey as part of Financial Planning Week taking place this week.
Although there's only a 1 in 14 million chance of hitting the national jackpot, it's the favoured option over seeking professional help. Just one in 20 said theyd take this route to improve their personal finances.
But 40 per cent did recognise the need to reduce debt. Financial Planning Week is urging everyone to recognise that need and take control of their finances.
EuroDebt's director, Kevin Still, recommends the Top 10 tips on financialplanningweek.org and says tight budgeting is a must for those struggling with debts.
