EuroDebt Launches Online Debt Calculator
July 2009
Helping Consumers Get a grip on their finances
As the recession continues to hit UK households hard, EuroDebt has launched a unique online Debt Calculator which is free to access and easy to use.
The quick and confidential online test can be used by individuals to find out how likely they are to have problems with their borrowing. After answering a series of straightforward questions, a report is generated which is sent by email including useful advice to help them manage their debts. A sample report is also available on-line to preview the questions before an individual takes the test.
The questions and report generator have been designed by debt experts from EuroDebt and independent specialists to identify the primary reasons for an individual's debt in an unintimidating way, using established government indicators to assess levels of indebtedness. The report also includes socio-economic information about the individual's local postcode area and aims to address the financial concerns of most families and individuals. Plus it offers practical advice and links to organisations that offer professional support for anyone struggling with debt.
"The current climate means more and more individuals are worried about the level of their debts but, for many, they don't have an overall grasp of what this means" explained Kevin Still, Director, EuroDebt. "And more worryingly, they aren't aware of the consequences if just one aspect of their current income or earning potential changes.
"Our goal with the Debt Calculator is to help increasingly stressed families and individuals who can feel intimidated by financial jargon. It is easy to use by anyone wanting to take the first step towards tackling their financial difficulties and reflects our overall philosophy of helping people improve their personal finances.
"We help people take an objective view of their finances and the calculator offers another tool, designed to make it easier for them to gain control of their personal debts. It's often difficult to make the first step towards getting help with managing debt but our online calculator offers an easy introduction to the process that people can use in the privacy and comfort of their own home. The report also offers practical advice and links to organisations that offer professional support for anyone struggling with debt."
