British Gas announces NLA link-up

30/11/2009

Tenants could benefit from a new deal struck between British Gas and the National Landlords Association (NLA).

The energy supplier, which retains 16 million UK customers, has become a Recognised Supplier of the industry group and is to provide maintenance and repair services for landlords at discounted prices.

Moreover, energy efficiency guidance from British Gas to members will be free under the terms of the deal, a move which could help to lower gas and electricity bills for tenants.

Paul Berwick, head of marketing at NLA, commented: "Landlords are a key part of housing market, and it is great to see prestigious companies such as British Gas turning their attention to providing specific services to landlords.

"Life as a landlord can be difficult, particularly in the current climate, so we welcome the fact our recognised suppliers are thinking about landlords' needs and how they can best help them."

British Gas also said that the size of the discount offered on maintenance and repair would be dependant on the number of properties held in a landlord's portfolio.ADNFCR-1819-ID-19486210-ADNFCR
