Joe Swash facing bankruptcy order

I'm A Celebrity star Joe Swash is attempting to reverse a bankruptcy order imposed on him due to a tax bill.

The actor's agent confirmed that a "tax issue" was behind the court filing, which was made last week.

However, there is a possibility that the order will be lifted once all monies owed are paid to HM Revenue & Customs, the UK's tax authority.

Joe's agent said: "Everyone has to pay tax and Joe knows he is no exception.

"There was a tax issue for which the final payment is imminent and, once made, discussions will be held with the Official Receiver to seek to reverse the bankruptcy order."

Former Liverpool and England footballer John Barnes was declared bankrupt in court last month for non-payment of taxes, although the order was later rescinded.

The player was quoted as saying that the "tax oversight" which caused the original order to be made was being sorted out.
