Recent graduate tenants "looking at properties throught Twitter"

06/04/2009

Renters in London looking for cheap tenant accommodation are increasingly taking their searches online, new analysis shows.

Young London, an estate agents aimed at recent graduates and other youngsters who live in the capital, announced that it was adding a Twitter facility to its portal.

The popular microblogging site, which limits web posts to 140 characters or fewer, is the latest web craze.

Google Street View, a new feature of Google Maps which allows users to look at pictures of a selected road, has also been incorporated into listings.

The agency claimed that this feature would allow users to get a "taste of the neighbourhood" for the selected property.

Neil Young at Young London said that both tenants and landlords could gain from the site expansion.

"For our landlords, being able to market property quickly and effectively, targeting the demographic that it appeals to is vital," he commented.

"Potential tenants and purchasers are increasingly using the likes of Twitter to keep tabs on new property that is coming onto the market, virtually instantly."

Young London currently manages 300 properties.ADNFCR-1819-ID-19109942-ADNFCR
